Good luck Dossier! I'll Miss You!

Hooray! The dossier has officially been turned over to Children's Hope International! I had all of the documents certified this week and Erin (sw) re-checked all the documents to make sure they are all in. Next they will send it off (probably next week) to D.C. for authentication and then it will be sent off to Ethiopia (I'm repeating myself for those who missed earlier posts).

It just feels so good to have it finished. I can't even explain how much I fretted over that paperwork. I was joking on our yahoo group that I should have just put THE BINDER (yes, it has to be capitalized) in a baby sling and carried it around. That way I would have always known where it was- safe with me. (I practically did carry it around all the time anyway!)

Speaking of baby carriers - here is the one we are thinking of:

My sister, Bonnie (a midwife), says it is the best and the one we have to have. Does anyone have the ergo? If you do, what do you think?

  1. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you. I'm up to three BINDERS...unfinished, partially finished, totally finished. I've started carrying a tote bag every where I go but if it gets any heavier, I'll have to move on to a backpack. Again...Congrats!

  3. I think we are one of the first- there is definitely one other and there may be one or two that are very close to us. There is a chance we could all travel together - which would be wonderful!

  4. This is so exciting. How long of a wait from once it is sent to Ethiopia until you get a referral.

  5. The wait could be 0-4 months for the first families, but that is expected to increase as more families join the program. It could happen very fast for the 'pioneer' families though. We're getting ready just in case. :)

  6. I have it - I LOVE it. It feels like your carrying a feather. My 1 yr old loves being on my back now in it and I have carried/still do him in the front. It's way worth the money! I plan to use it with our ethiopian little one.
