Summertime

Just some pictures of our summer so far....

Getting ready for her first pool party.

Micah at the pool party. I always said I wouldn't let my kids wear these things - I want them to learn to swim the right way. But the kid wants to be in the pool ALL DAY, so I caved. Either that or be in holding him up for HOURS.

And besides, look at how cute his tiny bum is in his turtle suit. Cracks me up.

He floats!

Lia does not float. But she does love the pool.

Micah got his mohawk professionally done. He loves it. And James was nice enough to do it for him. We love James.

Lia had her first beer at the EKC picnic. Nooo, not really. She likes to put her achey teeth on cold things - she grabbed her dad's beer and of course I took a picture.

We had pictures taken at the mall. Dreadful experience, but I wanted to surprise Kevin with some pictures for his new office. I can't wait to have our family pictures taken with our photographer. OUTSIDE. (Micah does not do well in a studio.) But we did get a few (literally three) good ones.

My Little Fish!

So, we've been gone for a while... sorry about that. But, we've been having so much summer-time fun - including a trip to the beach in Florida! The best part about this was that Micah started swimming. All. By. Himself. Seriously. He would stand on a ledge in the pool, I would count to three and say, "Big kicks!" and he would launch himself, face under, towards me with his arms and legs going. It was about the cutest thing ever. And, I'm a swimmer, so this mom was proud! Pictures? Yep!

Isn't that the cutest? I love it. It's a good thing I love it because he made me catch him for almost an hour straight. I would make him take breaks to take big breaths and he would start stomping his feet - ready to go again. I think we have a future swimmer in the family? :)

New Friends and a Frog

Micah has met his friends from down the street. The pic above is of Chuck & Micah - Chuck was not too happy with Micah at first because I usually walk in and pick him up - he was a wee bit mad that I had another baby in my arms. It was very funny - but you can see he got over it.
This next picture is of George, Micah and Chuck. George LOVES Micah. Today we were waiting for Kevin & Micah to get there (they went to get swim diapers) and we asked George where Micah was and he answered, "Ethiopia" :) We've been asking him all summer, so he's used to giving us that answer.

Okay, this next one is just so sweet. I love Micah's face in it and you can see that George just loves this kid.

In an effort to tire Micah out for a longer afternoon nap (so he doesn't want to go to bed for the night at 5 pm and then wake up for the morning at 4 am :) we took a short swim with George. Micah LOVED the water and was trying to put his face in! I had to hold him back! Kevin was putting little handfuls of water over his back & head and he was cracking up. This is him getting dried off in his frog towel.

Okay, so the afternoon nap has so far lasted 1 hour - much longer than yesterday already!! :) Let's hope for one more hour so he might get on our time zone soon!

I promise to post about our trip soon - right now I am just living in the moment! :)
