Strolling

So did you hear that EVERY Maclaren stroller sold in the US since 1999 has been recalled? It's true. We have the Maclaren Volo umbrella stroller. I know, it's an umbrella stroller and you can get those for super cheap, but the volo is my favorite stroller ever. I've had other moms and grandmas "drive" it and they ooh and ahh over how well it handles. I'm to pay the extra bit for a stroller that handles curves easily and can take a bit of a beating and not fall apart.

So, anyway... aside from the recall, I've been searching for a double stroller for when Baby Girl comes home. I'm mainly focusing on the sit & stand style and so far the reviews tell me that the Joovy Caboose Stand On stroller is quite awesome. And, it comes in purple. Which is my favorite color. See?

Cute, right? But I'm wondering if there are other stand-on strollers out there that I should be checking out. Or should I go with the old-fashioned side-by-side double stroller? I don't know! What do you think?

  1. I have had a slew of strollers and by far the best stroller ever is the city mini double jogger. It handles the weight of two that are different weight fantastically and it lays all the way down, it fits in places you would never expect including standard doorways and it has the coolest folding capability ever. Just my two cents of course ;)

  2. I love my baby trend sit and stand deluxe--I looked at the Joovy and didn't like that it was "small" and so much more expensive. The baby trend sit and stand folds easy (one hand) and is lighter than my regular graco stroller.

  3. We have the Joovy in orange and I really like it. There are a couple flaws, in my opinion. The front seat doesn't recline all of the way. If Micah wants to walk and your new babe is snoozing this is kind of annoying. The tray doesn't fold up with the rest of it. Steven tried to fix that with some velcro, but it didn't work. Not a huge deal, but when you are putting it in the trunk, it flaps around. It is really lightweight, which is great.I also wish that it had another compartment somewhere to hold stuff. When I pick Meazi up from school we have coats, art projects etc and we end up looking like a traveling circus. I would get it again if I were shopping. I really like the purple too!

  4. Even though we'll have 2 preschoolers when brother comes home, I'm looking into my options and think I'm going to go w/ a double side-by-side jogger. I love the handling of my current single jogger. My sister has a side-by-side and LOVES it. Of course, now that she has 3, maybe I'll just get that one??

  5. I also have the baby trend and have enjoyed it. It's really light and travels well. I've had the same problems stated above. The front kick plate gets stuck and doesn't want to shut sometimes. The kids usually fight over who gets to be in the "stand" part. I have a double jogging stroller but it doesn't have the front wheel that moves.
