Better than I could have said it...

For the last few days I've been trying to write a letter to Micah and his sister about the historical day we were a part of this past week. I found that Josh Bottomly has done an amazing job doing the same for his son. You should read it. You can here.

  2. I like your idea Stacie. Although I did not vote for Obama or agree with some of his views, I think it's a great idea to write a letter to my son telling him how, as a minority, he can accomplish anything he sets his mind to. As a female minority myself, I also experienced some prejudice (though nothing like many African-Americans have), and my husband and I have been criticized for our "inter-racial relationship", but I always believed I had a shot at life and strove to accomplish whatever I dreamed of. We want to grow our son into a leader and encourage him to go for his dreams despite the color of his skin or his ethnicity or even the fact that he is adopted. I am going to start thinking today of how I will write this letter! Thanks!!
