Feelin' It

(pssst - let's just ignore the fact that I was a big #FAIL in that noblopomo thing. I'll try again next year... moving on...)

Yeah, so I'm starting to feel The Wait. I've also put on some BabyWait, but I'm blaming that on the holidays, and I know it will disappear once she comes home and I forget how to sit down and eat a meal. (That's how it was with Micah, at least.) We were put on The Wait list one year ago today. I always said that I'd probably start to go a little crazy after the 12 month mark, and I was right.

I am starting to have to hold back anxious tears when I see BabyGirl's things or her room. I am starting to daydream about her. I'm starting to imagine holding a baby again (not that I'm not still holding one now - he's just a giant baby). I'm starting to wonder what she'll be like and how old she'll be and if she'll be little like Micah was or a chunk-o'-love like some babes.

You know what else I've been doing? Looking at Micah's baby pictures. Remembering baby stage. Fat, round faces and soft curls. Uh-huh... I'm ready. (And please remind me of this when she's home and I'm wondering how I ever thought I could handle two kids. Okay? Thanks.)

Oh those curls...love them

  7. Stacie,
I think you have done amazingly well keeping it together so far. Here's hoping that you are very close to the top of the list with baby girls and hear very good news shortly.

  8. It has been almost a year wait for us too. And it could be another year. I know how you feel- anxious, frustrated, _______ (fill in emotion here). I just keep working extra and trying to find house projects to keep me busy. I am sure when they come it will be like it never happened.

  9. You are incredible- and I hope amongst all hopes that you don't have to wait 14 months.... let's keep our fingers crossed that you end up only waiting 12.5. THAT would be so entirely awesome. I'm thinking about you and yours every single day. And not in a stalking way.

  10. That is such a long time to wait! It is so hard, the wait list period of the adoption process.

BTW, we leave on Friday to bring our 2nd home... and I have no idea how I'm going to manage two children either!
